Smart meters

Smart meters allow consumers to measure and record energy consumption in short intervals. Smart meters are also capable of two-way communication, which allows energy providers to read and control features of the meter remotely.
Immediate benefits of the smart meter include:
- improved accuracy of meter readings
- early detection of power quality issues
- improved monitoring of power outages to assist maintenance crews in reducing restoration times
Future benefits will include the ability to install an In-Home Display (IHD) to help you monitor your energy use.
